1. I’m applying for an F-1 visa from outside the U.S. What documents do I need to submit to apply?

  • Application form (Download at the bottom of page)

  • Copy of passport

  • Bank statement (yours or your sponsor’s: see Question 3 below)

  • High school or university transcript or certificate (can be submitted later, see Question 6)

  • Non-refundable fees:

    • Application Fee ($100)

    • International Processing Fee ($100)

    • Placement Test Fee ($20)

    • Mailing Fee (if necessary: see Question 5 below)

2. I already have an F-1 visa, and I’m applying to transfer to your school. What should I submit?

  •  Application form (Download at the bottom of page) 

  • Copy of passport

  • Copy of visa

  • Copy of I-94

  • Bank statement (yours or your sponsor’s: see Question 3 below)

  • Copy of your current I-20

  • High school or university transcript or certificate (can be submitted later, see Question 6)

  • Non-refundable fees:

  • Application Fee ($100)

  • Placement Test Fee ($20)

3. How much money do I need to show on my (or my sponsor’s) bank statement?

​For a 3-month program, your bank statement must show $4,150, 6 months = $8,300, 9 months = $$12,450, 1 year = $16,600. You may use a combination of bank statements (for example, both yours and your sponsor’s) if you like. Please make sure all bank statements are no older than 3 months.

4. I want to bring my child or spouse with me as a F-2 dependent. What should I do?

In addition to the documents mentioned above, you will also need to send:

Also, the bank statement requirement is higher when applying with dependents. Please see the Bank Statement Requirements for F-1 Students with F-2 Dependents. 

5. How much is the mailing fee? Can I have a friend in the U.S. mail it to me in my country?

If you have a friend in the U.S. who can pick up your I-20 and Acceptance Letter from us, you do not need to pay us the mailing fee. Your friend will be responsible for mailing them to you in your home country.

If you do not have a friend in the U.S. to mail them to you, our mailing fees are as follows (please choose one only):

  • $50 (Regular mail)

  • $100 (Express mail)

  • $150 (FedEx)

6. I don’t have my high school or university transcript or certificate now. Can I send it later?

Yes, you can apply now and send your high school or university transcript later, but we must receive it before you begin your studies on your Program Start Date.
